Public Procurement Authority

Control of Public Contracts

The Public Procurement Authority controls the performance and amendment of public procurement contracts concluded. During the contract control procedure, the purpose of the Public Procurement Authority is specifically to uncover infringements of law that may be committed during the performance of public procurement contracts. Contracts are inspected by the Public Procurement Authority on the basis of legal, technical and professional aspects, examining whether the performance (and the related possible amendment of the public procurement contract) complies with the provisions of the Public Procurement Act and the relevant executive decrees. The inspection is aimed not only at the investigation of the legal performance of the contract, but also at the detection of other infringements (e.g. competition law violations) and possible crimes.
